Egbert 'Eggie' Pereira
Financials. Egbert’s right on top of them, whether our clients’ or the firm’s. And he’s a master motivator. He loves encouraging the team to reach their full potential. Eggie’s holding the reins at EPA Group. But he’s no control freak. In 18 years building the EPA Group, Egbert’s made sure he doesn’t need to dot every “i” and cross every “t” to keep the business moving. There are more important things to do, like looking after clients. “I love meeting people, and helping them achieve their goals. The challenge to complete each engagement keeps me inspired, as does the new technology I’m continually learning about.” Away from the technology, Egbert likes pottering around the house and going on long bike rides.
People stick with Peter. And he sticks with them. He’s been working with the same portfolio of clients since he joined the EPA Group as a junior accountant in mid-2008. And guess what? Now he’s got a junior accountant reporting to him. Progress huh. Peter loves guiding clients to their financial goals and objectives. “I love being able to advise on both tax and financial planning issues. I help clients live well in the present and plan for the future.” if you’re up for a game, Peter’s into badminton, tennis, golf, snooker, computer games and board games. Oh, and reading Manga comics and hanging out with friends’, seeing as his family are in Malaysia.
High-net-worth individuals, trusts, companies and superannuation funds. Joanna helps them all. She’s been doing it since 2008 when she started at EPA Group as a graduate accountant. Joanna now also reviews the work of junior accountants. She’s also great at helping the partners research complex tax issues. “I love helping my clients sort out their taxes. It saves them money. The tax rules change so often. It’s a real challenge, but it’s one I enjoy.” Joanna enjoys working in our small team. “It’s great. We all know each other and work really well together.” When Joanna sneaks out of the office she spends her time travelling, trying new recipes out on her family (lucky family!), and taking photos with her Canon 7D.
It might be easier to list what Rob doesn’t do. He gets involved in practice management strategies, oversees the firm’s administration, reviews files before they’re sent to clients, maintains the office’s Systems and Procedures manual, and helps the accounting services team when they need a hand. And he wouldn’t change any of it. “Things are always changing around here, and I love the challenge of being able to help people achieve their dreams and goals.” Outside of the office he enjoys golf, bushwalking (which can be one and the same, depending on how he’s playing), going to the movies, reading and watching his beloved Magpies take to the field.
Vicki has been answering the phones, keeping on top of our mail, invoicing our clients and generally keeping the wheels turning here at the EPA Group since mid-2013. “I love staying in contact with our clients, and helping them solve their problems.” Away from the office Vicki’s active -understatement- playing competitive squash, going to the gym, swimming, riding, running and walking. Sometimes all on the one day, but never at the same time.
Peter came to EPA Group with extensive knowledge on cloud based systems and information technologies, when it comes to Xero accounting software Peter is our go to guy. Peter helps train our clients on Xero, while also preparing tax returns and financials documents for our clients. “I am always learning new skills and gaining knowledge to further our services to our valued clients.” Peter loves playing basketball and cheering for his footy team Carlton Blues on the weekend.
The newest member of the team, Genevieve prepares tax returns and financials for clients and helps them with their enquiries. “I love working here, everyone is really friendly and helpful. I’m learning a lot. I love helping clients, I find it very rewarding”. Outside the office, Genevieve enjoys the occasional game of badminton and taking dance lessons (“I still have two left feet though”). She likes reading and watching TV shows, baking and sewing.
Kristy is part of our admin and client services team, she is here to assist our accounting team and clients where possible. Kristy also keeps our clients up to date with our social media and blog posts. Kristy works part time here at EPA Group and loves coming to work and learning something new every day. “I love coming to work every day and interacting with the staff and clients”. Outside of the office Kristy enjoys cooking and shopping and when she isn’t running after her two young children she is running after her beloved border collie ‘Max’.
Antonina De Maria
Antonina is CPA qualified and has worked as an accountant in public practice and in industry since 2000. She has helped clients in all sorts of industries such as building and construction, real estate, retail and many more. Antonina is passionate about finding solutions to assist clients with achieving their business and personal goals. ‘I believe accounting isn’t just about numbers, it’s about working with clients to help them with their needs, whatever they may be’. Outside of work you will find Antonina renovating her house, going to the football to cheer on Richmond FC or discovering what Melbourne has to offer.
Trevor joins the EPA team with a number of years of industry experience. In the changing landscape of tax compliance, Trevor, feels the key focus for accountants is the provision of value-added services. With prior experience in Health and Business Management, Trevor possesses a range of competencies to assist you with the provision of Business Services, no matter what stage your business is at in its lifecycle. Outside of the office Trevor enjoys sports, the arts and entertaining friends with his Michelin Star* kitchen skills.
